Certified Home Health Aides assist those who can't complete their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) on their own anymore. We call this personal care which includes bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding. These services are provided to the clients so they are able to stay safely in the comfort of their own home. Many CHHAs may also work one on one with individuals in independent living facilities.
You will need access to the internet for the first 60 hours of training. The final 16 hours of practical training will take place in our Old Bridge office. Previous home care experience is not required. Tuition for the New Jersey CHHA program is $350 (cash or money order only, no check) and is due before the start of the online training program. An additional $65-$80 money order made payable to the N.J. Board of Nursing is required. Tuition is non-refundable within 7 days of the beginning of the course. Must complete online portion of training (60 hours) before the 16 hrs of classroom/lab training. If not on schedule, a $100 rescheduling fee will be applied to be included in the next 16 hour classroom practical training session.
