Owners Kristin and Jeremy Starkel
Hello! My name is Kristin Starkel. I am proud to be part owner of Right At Home - Norfolk, serving Northeast Nebraska. I grew up on a farm outside of Tilden, NE, where my parents still reside.
After high school, I earned by bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Nebraska. In my career, I have always enjoyed helping improve the health of my patients, and making them smile! I hope to carry my drive for excellent patient care over into our in-home care business.
My husband, Jeremy and I decided the perfect place to start our business was back home in Northeast Nebraska, where there is great need for caring for an aging population.
Family, small town values, and a sense of community are just a few of the reasons that solidified our decision to move to Norfolk to start Right At Home. I look forward to serving the community, and continuing to brighten patient’s days and smiles!
My name is Jeremy Starkel. I’m married to Kristin Starkel and have a son named Jagur and a yellow lab named Snarf. I was born and raised here in Norfolk, Nebraska. Graduated from Norfolk Catholic in 1997 where I played football for all 4 years under coach Jeff Bellar. I attended Northeast Community College after high school then moved to Phoenix, AZ where I studied Audio Engineering. After a few years, I moved to Omaha where I received my Bachelor’s degree in business management from Bellevue University. I then took a position as Director of Recruitment for the University of Phoenix where I worked for 7 years and earned my MBA. Most recently I’ve worked as a Branch Manager for the last 6 ½ years for a medical staffing firm called Aureus Medical based in Omaha Nebraska.
About 3 years ago my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. My sisters and I had a crash course in becoming caregivers for her as she lost the ability to walk due to the disease. We encountered first hand how challenging it was for her as well as us with having to take time off of work to take her to doctors’ appointments, chemotherapy, and just to help her with daily activities of life. In August of 2017 we lost her to her battle with cancer. I knew at that moment there was a greater purpose for me in life. I wanted to do something where I could give back to other families who have loved ones at home who need care. My wife and I thought what better way to do that than back in our hometown and areas where we grew up.
Heidi Tuma CNA | Scheduling Coordinator
Heidi became a CNA back in 2006 when she earned her license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked as a CNA/Caregiver for a total of 5 years off and on in Long Term Care facilities. She also did some scheduling while working in various nursing home and for the railroad. Heidi lives just 2 mile outside of Creston on a little farm with her husband Tyson, daughter Morgan and Son Tucker. She loves to spend time outside with her family on their farm riding horses. They like to go camping and kayaking. She really enjoys working with Right at Home because it’s great to be able to help clients stay independently in their own homes and having caregivers go to them. Heidi also really enjoys the great office team that she works with every day. She has gotten the great opportunity to go and help a few of the in-home care clients herself and it really brings a smile knowing she’s there to give them the one on one care they need.
Amy Schnoor | Healthcare Recruiter
Amy grew up in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk Senior High. She now lives in small town Pierce, Nebraska and is married to Heath Schnoor. They have three beautiful girls, Alexis, Morgan, and Brynley. Amy is an active volunteer teacher at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pierce. She finds pure joy in getting to know each one of her students, but it’s also gratifying to help her community any way she can. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors and with family. She’s such a great fit for Right at Home because she loves helping people.
Yoselin Paniagua CNA/Med Aide | Client Care Coordinator/Recruiter
Yoselin, “Yos” for short, lives in Madison with her husband Manuel and their three children, Janessa, Ian and Camila. She was born in California, however she moved to Nebraska when she was very young. Yos graduated from Madison in 2010, shortly after she earned her CNA license. She’s worked in long term care for the past seven years, and as a Medication Aide for the past three years. Yos started working for staffing agencies about three years ago, and traveled to many nursing homes throughout Northeast Nebraska. While working as a CNA she really enjoyed the bond with the residents so client care is very important to her. She enjoys working with clients and helping them keep their independence as much as possible.
